August 19, 2024-San Marcos, CA- September is National PACE Month, and Gary and Mary West PACE invites the public and media representatives to visit our day center and see first hand why the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) is the ideal option to help seniors maintain their indpedence and continue living in their own homes rather than going into a nursing home.  This year, the theme for National PACE Month is “Simplify Your Life: At Your PACE

Established in 2019,  Gary and Mary West PACE is a  not for profit program funded  through a grant from the Gary & Mary West Foundation, and stands out as a dynamic, research-driven program committed to transforming senior care in San Diego. Our 20,000-square-foot, stand-alone Day Center offers an expansive, participant-focused space where seniors can engage in tailored activities that promote both physical and mental well-being. As a leader in the community, we actively partner with local organizations to reach and support vulnerable senior populations who can benefit from PACE. Our dedication to improving outcomes is reinforced by our role as a learning institution, where we continually research and develop new strategies to enhance the effectiveness of our services. This commitment not only elevates care locally but also broadens the scope and awareness of PACE on a national level.

PACE is a model of care providing holistic and individualized care solutions that allow older adults to live at home with a higher quality of life and at a reduced cost.  Care is provided by interdisciplinary teams comprised of primary care professionals, registered nurses, home care coordinators, personal care attendants, dieticians, social workers, drivers, and physicial, occupational and recreational therapists.

PACE simplifies care by identifying, organizing, and providing all necessary services.

The National PACE Association (NPA) works to advance the efforts of PACE programs, which coordinate and provide preventative, primary, acute and long -term care services so older individuals can continue living in the community.  The PACE model of care is centered on the belief that it is better for the well-being of seniors with chronic care needs and their families to be served in the community whenever possible.  For more information, visit www.naponline.org and follow @TweetNPA.
